Azure Magazine has awarded The Silo Best Residential Architecture in the AZ Awards 2018, along being the People’s Choice winner. The Silo is acnowledged as a project that embodies the transformative impact of design, selected among 997 entries from 46 countries – the greatest amount of submissions in AZ Awards history.

Coming soon: Second edition of Our Urban Living Room
An updated and extended version of Our Urban Living Room will be released in late August 2018 by Arvinius + Orfeus Publishing. The book is about Cobe's projects in Copenhagen – but also about what Copenhagen has taught us as architects and as human beings. It is a book celebrating a new kind of city, where public and private spaces are intertwined in exciting new ways. Our metaphor for this invigorating city is "our urban living room".
Our Urban Living Room will be available at major bookstores worldwide as well as the online bookshop of Arvinius + Orfeus where you can pre-order the book from today.

Cobe moves to Nordhavn
Today, our team of 120 employees is moving to our new office – located in a transformed warehouse in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn, an area containing the largest collection of realized projects by Cobe, and a 1:1 laboratory of our work in all scales. Cobe has nearly doubled in size the past few years, and will double its office space in Nordhavn to more than 2.400 m².

The Silo announced winner of the Global Galvanizers Award 2018
The Silo is announced winner of the Global Galvanizers Award 2018, presented at the 25th Intergalva Conference in Berlin, Germany, last week. The Global Galvanizing Awards is presented every three years, celebrating and recognizing the innovative use of galvanized steel by architects, engineers and steel constructors.

The Silo is finalist for RENOVER Prisen 2018
The Silo is finalist for RENOVER Prisen 2018 – an award that pays tribute to Denmark's best renovation projects. Annually granted by Realdania and Grundejernes Inversteringsfond, the award aims to inspire and acknowledge the diciplin of great renovation and thereby encourage the society to engage in more renovation projects in the future.
The winner will be announced in September 2018.

Topping-out ceremony for Karen Blixens Plads
The construction of the urban plaza, Karen Blixens Plads, in connection with the University of Copenhagen is progressing and has reached an important milestone: the topping-out ceremony, celebrating the craftsmen's work and effort at the construction site.
Karen Blixens Plads is set to be completed beginning of 2019.

Lecture at the School of Architecture in Nantes
Tomorrow, Project Director Caroline Nagel will give a lecture at the School of Architecture in Nantes (École Nationale Supéreiure d'Architecture de Nantes), France. Caroline will be speaking about "Our Urban Living Room" and explain how this theme has affected and shaped Cobe's work.

Nørreport Station exhibited in Frankfurt
Using exemplary projects from all over the world, including Nørreport Station, the exhibition 'Ride a bike! Reclaim the city' at DAM – Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt, demonstrates how bicycle freindly infrastructure makes cities more livable – for everyone.
The exhibition presents eight cities and regions, including Copenhagen, New York, Karlsruhe, Oslo, Portland, Barcelona, the Ruhr district and Groningen – all showing how the path towards a more sustainable and social city can also lead via plans for one that is bicycle-friendly.

The Silo wins CTBUH Best Tall Building in Europe Award 2018
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has awarded The Silo Best Tall Building in Europe, at the 2018 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference in Chicago.
Along with the award, The Silo received the following words from CTBUH: "The Silo embodies the importance of restoring original structures in cities, as a matter of environmental sustainability, as well as an ethical and visionary approach to cultural heritage."

The Silo exhibited in Oslo
The Silo is part of the exhibition 'From X to Home', displayed at ROM for Kunst og Arkitektur in Oslo, Norway. The exhibition presents a selection of residential Nordic projects, including The Silo, exemplifying how architecture and transformation of physical surroundings can have an impact on human lives and contribute to shape future ways of living.
